Though they've kept busy with EP releases and covers projects, Motor City punk-noise creeps Child Bite have announced they're set to drop their first full-length release in six years. Titled Negative Noise, it arrives April 1 through Housecore Records.
While the band had delivered their Strange Waste EP in 2014, Negative Noise marks the first proper LP from the Detroit unit since 2010's The Living Breathing Organ Summer.
The 12-song release is described as a 47-minute journey of "furious jabs and paranoia-fueled explosions," which mixes in elements of punk, metal, surf music, sludge and more. It's added that the band reflect influences like the Jesus Lizard and Black Flag.
The record was produced by Housecore owner Phil Anselmo, which may have been more of a selling point ahead of the Down singer's recent "white power" controversy. The band had issued a cover of Celtic Frost track "The Usurper" with Anselmo on vocals last year, as part of the Morbid Tales: A Tribute to Celtic Frost compilation.
A stream of Negative Noise's "Vermin Mentality," which imagines Slip It In-period Black Flag as fronted by Jello Biafra, can be streamed below.
As previously reported, Child Bite are hitting the road with Portland punk icons Poison Idea later this month, with the tour hitting both Montreal and Toronto. You'll find the show info beneath Negative Noise's tracklisting.
