Death metal trailblazers Cannibal Corpse have announced their 16th album. Chaos Horrific will be out on September 22 through Metal Blade Records, and the band have announced plans to support it with a North American fall tour with Mayhem.

Chaos Horrific is the follow-up to 2021's Violence Unimagined, and it coincides with the band's 35th anniversary. "To me, this album feels sort of like a continuation of Violence Unimagined," bassist Alex Webster said in a statement.

Guitarist/producer Erik Rutan, on the other hand, said, "I wanted to push the envelope a bit in a different direction than Violence Unimagined; expand the dynamics, explore new territory without departing from what Cannibal Corpse is and always shall be." Recording took place at Rutan's Mana Studio in Florida.

Below, watch a video for the lead single "Blood Blind," which is the first song the band wrote for the album. Chaos Horrific preorders are available here.
