After first breaking the news to Exclaim!, Archers of Loaf are teasing a 2020 reunion and their first new music in over two decades. In addition to announcing a series of tour dates, the North Carolina indie-rock heroes have just shared a mysterious new teaser that hints at their first new music in 22 years.

Archers of Loaf uploaded a brief 40-second clip to YouTube on Sunday (November 24) with the title of "The Return of the Loaf." As you can see below, it features a mix of onstage footage and flashing images, as well as what appears to be part of a new song.

In addition, the band have launched a new website, where they tease "big news coming soon!"

On the site, Archers write, "We've got a few upcoming shows that we wanted to announce since they are coming up soon, and stay tuned for more hubbub in the coming weeks."

These show start on February 21 in Carrboro, NC, and include more U.S. dates in Atlanta on February 22, Nashville on March 7 and Boston on March 14. You can see the dates here.

Forming in 1991, Archers of Loaf released their last album in 1998 with White Trash Heroes. In 2011, the group reformed for a series of reunion shows, as well as a reissue campaign.

In 2018, however, frontman Eric Bachmann told Exclaim! that the band had starting working on new material for a potential new album.

In the interview, Bachmann suggested that all of the members of Archers of Loaf are onboard with this idea of reforming and making a new record.

"Oh yeah, everybody wants to do it — I just have to write the songs," he said at the time. "I'm not going to give them the mellow stuff, but I do have other songs that would be good for a guitar-bass-drums setup, I just haven't finished them. But Eric Johnson, the guitar player for Archers, plays all of the electric guitar on my new album and we've never done that before. I'm a fan of his guitar playing and we talked about doing more Archers songs when we recorded this stuff and he said, 'Just let me know man.'"

For now, watch that teaser video below, and stay tuned for more details as they become available.
