Tim Burton may not be making a Beetlejuice sequel, but that doesn't mean he's run out of lightly spooky material to reboot. Instead, the quirkily macabre auteur will next use his powers to reanimate the corpse of The Addams Family with a new live-action series.

According to Variety, Burton is in negotiations to direct and executive produce a live-action reboot of the hit show for MGM Television. Into the Badlands creators Alfred Gough and Milles Millar would write the series.

There's no network attached to the show just yet, but with Burton attached to this classic Burton-y intellectual property, the show will certainly see the light of day with no issues.

The Addams Family debuted as a comic strip before becoming a television series in both the '60s and the '90s. The characters have also appeared in numerous films, most recently with an animated film last year.

Should the new show come to fruition, it would be one of very few television projects on Burton's resume.
