'Mean Girls' Cast Reunites for Walmart Commercial, and Missy Elliott Is There Too

Must be Wednesday

I don't need to open this with some sweeping statement about the enduring cultural touchstone that is Mean Girls, because you already know. (So you agree? You think you already know?)

Several original cast members — including Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, Lacey Chabert, Daniel Franzese and Rajiv Surendra — of the 2004 movie have reunited to appear in a Walmart Black Friday commercial, which must have paid them handsomely.

The ad is set to "Pass That Dutch" and soon-to-be Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Missy Elliott seems to have replaced the original Coach Carter actor, donning a sweatsuit and taking to the blackboard to educate the youth about deals.

The basic plot is that, all these years later, not a thing has changed at North Shore High School. There's a new trio of Plastics, the leader of which is the daughter of Chabert's iconic Gretchen Weiners (and presumable new heir to the Toaster Strudel fortune), who is still trying to make fetch happen. Meanwhile, Lohan's Cady Heron is now the guidance counsellor, and Seyfried's Karen Smith is... still getting hit by footballs while reporting the weather.

Watch the commercial to meet the next generation of "Jingle Bell Rock" talent show performers below.
