Keanu Reeves Is Reportedly Just as Confused About the Matthew Perry Thing as You Are

Sad Keanu 2: Electric Boogaloo

Not to alarm you or anything, but somehow nearly two weeks have passed since excerpts from Friends actor Matthew Perry's memoir took over the internet for quite seemingly implying that he wished death upon bonafide sweetie-pie Keanu Reeves. The reverberations continue to affect all, and Reeves is reportedly no exception.

"Why is it that the original thinkers like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger die, but Keanu Reeves still walks among us?" were the hallowed words Perry wrote in Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing. He essentially wrote them again elsewhere in the book, too: "I punched a hole through Jennifer Aniston's dressing room wall when I found out," the actor penned regarding comedian Chris Farley's death, naturally adding, "Keanu Reeves walks among us."

A so-called "insider" told Us Magazine that Reeves also found the sitcom star's obsession with whether he lives or dies (and seemingly gunning for the latter) to be rather bewildering.

"Keanu thought the comments came out of left field," the insider told the publication. "It's kind of backfired on Matthew anyway, which is why he had to apologize."

"I'm actually a big fan of Keanu," Perry claimed in a statement to Deadline after his fixation on Reeves's beating heart circulated widely. "I just chose a random name, my mistake. I apologize. I should have used my own name instead."

The jury's still out on if Perry beat up Justin Trudeau, but it certainly seems like the man behind Chandler Bing may have been deeply wounded by his Ottawa upbringing.
