Disney+ has confirmed plans to revive the Halloween cult favourite Hocus Pocus for a new sequel.

Disney has billed the forthcoming film as "the spooky sequel to the 1993 Halloween classic," suggesting the probability of some continuation of the original story.

While the original cast consisting of Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy have yet to confirm their involvement in the reboot, the film is set to be directed by Adam Shankman and scripted by Jen D'Angelo. So far, there are few other details surrounding the release of the film.

Hocus Pocus 2 was announced as part of Disney Investor Day, a massive media event that also confirmed plans to renew It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, bring forth a bunch of new Star Wars content, Black Panther II and Indiana Jones 5, among other titles.
