Mauno

"Burn This" (ft. Charlotte Day Wilson) on Exclaim! TV

Newly assembled Halifax group Mauno have recently been on the road with slowcore aficionados Vulva Culture in support of their new split release, Rolling in the Creep. Consisting of Nick Everett on guitar, Eliza Niemi on bass and Sackville legend Evan Matthews on drums, Mauno blends their jam band sensibility with the restraint and simplicity of a folk act to create a truly mesmerizing and hypnotic sound.

On their recent stopover in Toronto with Vulva Culture, the band visited our office to perform a rendition of "Burn This" for Exclaim! TV.

Performing in the depths of the Exclaim! basement archives, the band decided to switch things up for this session, with Niemi and Everett trading instruments, and Toronto's own Charlotte Day Wilson helping out on vocals.

Watch as the band makes use of the basement's natural ambience and effortlessly deliver their atmospheric number in the player below, and don't forget to watch our previous session with Vulva Culture here.

Both bands will be playing at this year's Lawnya Vawnya, which kicks off this week. Get more info here.
