Halifax-based dream pop outfit Vulva Culture were recently on a Canadian tour with hometown buddies Mauno (with whom they share a bassist) in support of their split EP Rolling in the Creep. Lead by singer/guitarist Amy V, the East Coast act have organically evolved over time into a self-described "corpse of truly devastated Haligonian souls, who've together found beauty in their tears and wickedness in their blood."
While in Toronto the band visited the Exclaim! office to shoot a session for Exclaim! TV. However, rather than allow them to perform in the light of day, we opted to match the group's melancholic vibes by sticking them in the depths of the Exclaim! basement archives.
Performing "Human Garbage," a track taken from their aforementioned split release, the band showcases their trademark blend of shadowy atmospherics and airy vocals, easily earning a soundtrack spot in your next nightmare.
Watch the performance now in the player below, and look out for our Exclaim! TV session with Mauno next week over on our YouTube channel.
Both bands will be playing at this year's Lawnya Vawnya, which kicks off next week. Get more info here.
