This marks the fifth year for independent Newfoundland music festival Lawnya Vawnya, and the organizers have now confirmed the lineup that will be coming to St. John's from April 22 to 26.
This year's performers include Suuns, the Strumbellas, Doug Paisley, Teenanger, Lowell, Weaves, the Burning Hell, John Mckiel, Donovan Woods, the Killing, Painful Shivers, the Domestics, Walrus, the Lonely Parade, Mauno, Boathaus, Gianna Lauren, Susie Asado, the Darts, Maans, Suds, Dark for Dark, Hiera, Nick Everett, Family Video, Katie Baggs, Mooch, Slick Nixon, Bleu, Kira Sheppard, Ouroboros, Jonny and the Cowabungas, Mudflowers, Vulva Culture, Spitula Clark, Gem, Quidi Video, AE Bridger, Owen Steel, Peter Willie Youngtree and Ginger Snaps.
Lawnya Vawnya — which, incidentally, is named after a Newfoundland expression meaning "a good time at a dance or a party" or "plenty to eat" — will also include art, panel discussions, a record and press fair, secret shows and more.
Pre-sale passes cost $80 and they're available right now. If you miss the boat on this, standard passes will cost $100.
