Following his 2015 memoir, Willie Nelson will write Letters to America in a new book due out this summer.

Willie Nelson's Letters to America arrives June 29 through Harper Horizon and is said to find the country icon sharing "his most personal and intimate thoughts and stories" through penning notes to close family members, personal heroes, and "Americans past, present and future."

An abstract for the book reads as follows:

From his opening letter "Dear America" to his "Dear Willie" epilogue, Willie digs deep into his heart and soul — and his music catalog — to lift us up in difficult times, and to remind us of the endless promise and continuous obligations of all Americans — to themselves, to one another, and to their nation.

Nelson collaborated on the book with Turk Pipkin, a contributing editor at Texas Monthly. It marks the pair's second collaboration, having teamed in 2006 for The Tao of Willie

Willie Nelson's Letters to America is now available for pre-order.

Today is also a release day for Nelson, having dropped off his Frank Sinatra covers album That's Life through Legacy Recordings.
