Will Smith Says He Was Jealous of Tupac's Relationship with Jada Pinkett

Will Smith has opened up about feeling jealous of Tupac before he was married to his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

The Fresh Prince himself appeared on The Breakfast Club this morning, and discussed his now-wife's longtime friendship with Tupac before he died.

When asked if he was ever jealous of the love that Jada had for Tupac, Smith replied, "Fuck yeah!"

"That was in the early days. That was a big regret, that I could never open up to interact with Pac," he continued. "We had a bit of a thing because they grew up together and they loved each other but they never had a sexual relationship. But then they came into that age where that was a possibility and then Jada was with me."

Smith continued, "Jada just loved him. He was the image of perfection but she was with the Fresh Prince. We were in a room together a couple times and I couldn't speak to him and he wasn't going to speak to me if I wasn't going to speak to him."

When the interviewer pointed out that they probably had a lot in common, Smith said, "That's what Jada would say all the time. 'I'm telling you, y'all are so similar, you will love him.'"

Smith added, "That was a huge regret of mine. I couldn't handle it. I was this soft rapper from Philly and he was Pac… I was deeply insecure and I wasn't man enough to handle that."

Watch Smith open up about that period in his life in the clip below.
