Nearly two years on from the film's announcement, we finally have a trailer for the "definitive" documentary on Beach Boys leader and pop music luminary Brian Wilson.

Directed by Brent Wilson (no relation), Brian Wilson: Long Promised Road will examine Wilson's life, music and cultural impact upon its arrival in theatres and video-on-demand services on November 19.

Along with testimonial interviews with the likes of Elton John, Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, Bruce Springsteen, Linda Perry, Don Was and more, Long Promised Road features recent interviews Wilson did with former Rolling Stone editor-in-chief Jason Fine.

In the trailer, Fine shares that as opposed to in-depth interviews, the Beach Boy is more amenable to driving around, listening to music while in conversation. The two visit landmarks including the beach where the band shot the cover for 1962 debut Surfin' Safari, and the Wilson brothers' childhood home.

Listen hard enough to the trailer audio, and you'll hear a tease of "Right Where I Belong," a new song Wilson cut for the film with My Morning Jacket's Jim James.

Director Wilson previously told Rolling Stone of the film, "It's definitely not a biographical film. It's not linear in any fashion. It's more of an impressionistic film with the music as the driving force that carries it through … I feel like we've got something different here. I've never seen a biopic like this before. I'm hoping it'll be received for what it is, a beautiful, honest portrait of Brian."

On the day of Long Promised Road's arrival, Wilson will also release new solo album At My Piano.
