Vancouver indie rock trio the Jins have announced plans for their debut album It's a Life. It's due June 30 through 604 Records, and they've previewed the effort with its lead single, "Effigy."

The band — formed by Ben Larsen, Hudson Partridge and Jamie Warnock — teamed up with producer Dave Genn to record the album in Vancouver, expanding upon the sound of Death Wish, their 2019 EP that spawned the TikTok hit "She Said."

While they've kept most of the other album details hush for now, the band shared its first morsel last week when they dropped "Effigy," a song "that has been floating around the band in varying forms for years now, until we sat down and whittled it into the version we're finally putting out," they said in a release.

The trio continued, "It has become the band's first true ballad, our reflection on the allure of self-sabotage and the ripples that has on our lives and those close to us."

As we await more information about the group's debut, you can hear "Effigy" on the player of choice below. Keep your eyes peeled for upcoming tour announcements as well.
