Thurston Moore has cancelled a forthcoming book tour behind memoir Sonic Life, revealing struggles with a "debilitating" health condition.
In announcing the cancellation via Instagram, Moore writes how he has been "advised by my medical team here in the UK to cancel my upcoming USA book tour," sharing that they are "strongly ... against me flying anywhere under any circumstance until they get it all sorted out."
"For years I have been dealing with a longstanding health condition, though it has never seriously stopped me from touring and recording," Moore explains. "Regardless it's always been an underlying issue and as I reach my mid-60s this year it has become rather, and consistently, debilitating."
Moore adds how he's been "reassured" that refunds will be issued to ticketholders, and is crossing his fingers that he'll be able to make it up to listeners when cleared for travel. He writes, "As it is I am grateful to have such an awesome support system of love and attention at this moment. And to know how much love, respect, and appreciation we all share."

Announced in 2021, Sonic Life is said to chart the "wild music and endless wonder" of Moore's life and music career. The memoir arrives October 24.
