This July marked the 25th anniversary of the Tragically Hip's classic 1998 album Phantom Power, and the band will be belatedly celebrating the occasion with an expanded box set version of the album. It's out November 3 through Universal Music, and an unreleased song from the original sessions has been released now.
The expanded version included five extra tracks that weren't on the original album, including the newly shared "Bumblebee." The set also includes seven alternate versions of songs from Phantom Power.
In addition to these studio outtakes, the package comes with a live album dating back to 1998, recorded at Pittsburgh, PA's Metropol.
All told, the box set spans five vinyl LPs or three CDs. It comes with a 24-page video storyboard from the "Bobcaygeon" video, plus a 64-page coffee table book with photos from the sessions by producer Steve Berlin. See an unboxing video below, along with "Bumblebee" and the vinyl tracklist.
