Toronto Urban Roots Festival has once again expanded the lineup for its upcoming 2016 edition. Joining the first and second waves of artists, plus the addition of Ween, the downtown outdoor event is looking to stay even more positive by adding the Hold Steady into the mix.

The band recently announced plans to reunite with keyboardist Franz Nicolay to take their seminal 2006 album Boys & Girls in America out for a 10th anniversary spin, confirming appearances at the upcoming Riot Fests in Denver and Chicago. Now, Toronto fans will get to see a celebratory set of their own.

The Hold Steady join previously announced acts like Barenaked Ladies, Dropkick Murphys, Explosions in the Sky, Jake Bugg, Matthew Good, Lush, the Sheepdogs, the Hives, Lake Street Dive, Matt Andersen & the Bona Fide, Guided By Voices, Rheostatics, Matt Mays, Drive By Truckers, the Felice Brothers, Okkervil River, Corb Lund, the Mekons, Marlon Williams, Julien Baker, John Moreland, Skinny Lister, and Midnight Shines.

A second announcement revealed that Jimmy Eat World, the New Pornographers, Whitehorse, Margo Price, Dwayne Gretzky (playing the Tragically Hip), the Sadies, Wild Child, the Deslondes, Simone Denny, Lee Harvey Osmond, the Belle Game, Modern Space and Julia Jacklin are also on the TURF bill.

Ween and Modern Baseball have since been added, as well.

TURF takes place at Fort York Garrison Common from September 16 to 18. Find full festival information, including day-by-day lineups and ticket options, over at the official festival website.
