Despite insistently still being at their very best, the 1975 are quitting while they're ahead: the band have announced an "indefinite hiatus" from performing live to follow their current tour behind Being Funny in a Foreign Language.

While on stage last night in Sacramento, CA, ringleader and social media menace Matty Healy addressed the crowd ahead of performing one of the quartet's early hits, "Sex."

"It's wonderful you're all here," the singer said. "After this tour, we will be going on an indefinite hiatus with shows, so it's wonderful to have you guys with us tonight. Thank you so much."

Healy and co. are currently amid the North American leg of the Still... at Their Very Best Tour — which includes Canadian stops in Montreal, Toronto, London and Vancouver — through until December 2. They also recently announced a 2024 run of UK and European dates, with the final scheduled show as of this posting being a performance at Amsterdam's AFAS Live on March 24.
