Hamilton rock'n'rollers Arkells are readying their next album Morning Report for release this summer, and they've already teased the forthcoming full-length with a video for "Private School." If that wasn't enough excitement for your inner Arkells fan, though, Exclaim! has got you covered with an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the clip.
The track features guest vocals from Tokyo Police Club's Dave Monks, who also shows up in the video, alongside additional cameos from Lights, Sum 41's Steve Jocz and, of course, Arkells themselves. It sees the musicians taking on roles as part of the film crew, while actors play the snotty private school kids the song was written about.
In the new behind-the-scenes footage, frontman Max Kerman gets super meta and takes viewers on a trip through the film set. He explains the inspiration behind the video concept (which actually came from their childhood musical role model Jocz) and delves into the meaning behind the song.
We also get to see snippets of the onscreen stars getting some directional advice like, "Pick up an apple or something!" and really get into character by indulging in the craft services' candy and cupcake offerings.
Get in on the making-of fun by watching the behind-the-scenes video for "Private School" below. Morning Report will arrive on August 5 through Universal Music Canada.
