Stereolab are pulling back the curtain on the reunited group's next round in their expansive reissue series. On September 13, the campaign will continue with expanded and remastered reissues of 1996's Emperor Tomato Ketchup, 1997's Dots and Loops, and 1999's Cobra and Phases Group Play Voltage in the Milky Night.
The reissues will arrive on vinyl, CD and digitally via Warp Records/Duophonic UHF Disks. They come in the wake of the first round of reissues that included the band's 1993 album Transient Random Noise-Bursts with Announcements and their 1994 effort Mars Audiac Quintet.
Like those previous reissues, the latest album reissues have all been remastered from the original 1/2" tapes by Bo Kondren at Calyx Mastering and overseen by Stereolab's Tim Gane. Bonus material includes alternate takes, 4-track demos and unreleased mixes.
The initial vinyl editions will be pressed onto triple clear vinyl with a poster, as well as an insert containing liner notes by Gane. They will also include a lottery-style scratch card, which will give fans a chance to win what's being called an "exclusive Stereolab record" at the end of 2019.
You can get more details and pre-order the new vinyl reissues over here.
To go along with the news, you can hear the newly uploaded archival track "Freestyle Dumpling," which is an outtake from the Emperor Tomato Ketchup sessions that was previously only released in Japan. Listen to the track here or below, where you will also find the sprawling tracklists to each upcoming reissue in the latest series.
Stereolab will wrap up their 2019 reissues campaign with the release of Sound-Dust and Margerine Eclipse in November.
As previously reported, Stereolab are heading out on a reunion tour, and you can see all the dates here.
