Laetitia Sadier has announced a new solo album. The Stereolab co-founder and vocalist will share Rooting for Love on February 23 via Drag City.
Following 2017's Find Me Finding You, released as Laetitia Sadier Source Ensemble, the 10-track Rooting for Love features the previously shared "New Moon" in its tracklist and is said to be "a call to the traumatized civilizations of Earth," not unlike that aforementioned single.
Sadier shared of "New Moon" upon its 2021 release, "The nature of trauma — by going through a process of feeling the emotions of all of that has stricken or afflicted us, individually. By not avoiding these feelings, it's a way to evolve and cut the ties of the past, that are keeping us down and into the turmoil we are currently experiencing."
"Une Autre Attente" is the latest from the album to arrive, and you can let yourself be moved by its stirring funk groove below alongside a kaleidoscopic video created by Spencer Bewley.
Sadier will also take her latest on a solo tour of North America in 2024. Next March and April, the artist will play 24 dates on the continent, three of which come in Canada. Sadier will play Vancouver's Fox Cabaret on March 6, ahead of stops at Toronto's Garrison (March 25) and Montreal's Bar le Ritz PDB (March 26).
