Sleaford Mods Serve Up 'English Tapas' LP, Announce Band Doc

BY Calum SlingerlandPublished Dec 13, 2016

Not far removed from announcing their first-ever tour of North America, Sleaford Mods have detailed what album they'll be supporting across the pond this spring. Titled English Tapas, the new LP is set to arrive in March.

Running 12 tracks in length, English Tapas was recorded by the duo of Jason Williamson and Andrew Fearn at Steve Mackey's West Heath Garage studios in London.

On its food-themed title, Williamson recounted that "Andrew walked into some random pub and saw 'English Tapas' scrawled on the menu board. Underneath this beautiful coupling of words were its components, half a scotch egg, cup of chips, pickle and a mini pork pie. It says everything about this fucking place. It's comedy, it's make do, it's ignorant and above all, it's shit."

Along with the album announcement, the band have announced the release of "the definitive Sleaford Mods film." Titled Bunch of Kunst, the Christine Franz-directed film is expected out in early 2017.

English Tapas arrives on March 3 through Rough Trade, with pre-orders available through the label here. A limited-edition vinyl version will arrive on red wax with a bonus 7-inch, a photo and commentary book, Sleaford Mods-branded Rizla rolling papers and a beermat.
