Puddle of Mudd's Wes Scantlin Says Women "Will Keep You Up Too Late" on Tour

"Chicks, they're keeping you up and you don't get no sleep, and then you suck at singing"

Puddle of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin is a man very dedicated to his bedtime.

Reel Talker sat down with Scantlin back in August, but this evergreen doozy of a clip has just been brought to our attention [via Metal Sucks].

During the interview, the frontman discussed the perils of rock stardom — namely, being on the road and playing shows and having to deal with women voraciously throwing themselves at you. And honestly? It was an inspiring monologue.

I've just got this to say: when you're on tour and you're a singer, we're constantly trying to rest our voices so we can perform well. And girls, man, they will keep you up, man — they will keep you up too late. Too late! And whatever things they've got in their pockets, we don't need that either. So, yeah, the best thing to do is just kind of stick with the wolf pack — just hang with your pack and do not veer away from safety. And just stay focused, stay the course.

There's nothing wrong with women, but you've gotta stay the course and you've gotta be a professional person. Or else you'll wake up and whatever — chicks, they're keeping you up and you don't get no sleep, and then you suck at singing. And then you're just like, "Fuck, man. What have I done?"

Ain't nothing wrong with the ladies, but they just keep you up a little too long.

That's women for you — shiny distractions never letting anyone sleep and always having things in their pockets. We have nothing but respect for bedtimes, but, uh, decidedly more respect for women (a.k.a. the tyrant sirens messing with Scantlin's circadian rhythms and making it harder for him to do "Blurry" justice onstage).

Watch the interview with the musician for yourself below — if you're a fan of questionable questions leading to questionable answers — but be forewarned, the following clip comes with a heavy dose of misogyny.
