The Prodigy have announced they're soon to issue a new single called "Nasty Nasty" and an upcoming full-length, marking the first fresh material from the outfit since their 2009 LP Invaders Must Die. The track is expected to drop sometime next month, while the as-yet-untitled album is slated to come out in February.
The arrival of "Nasty Nasty" was heralded by the UK electronic act over a series of Instagram posts. The first post displayed the song name pasted across the band's familiar ant logo and contained the message "Single 1 SOON!" but by the sixth variation of the theme, the band had revealed that the track lands sometime in January.
A recent interview with the band's Liam Howlett had him describing "Nasty Nasty," which features vocalist Keith Flint, as featuring "some trippy Winston Churchill vibe in the middle," and that the Prodigy's sixth LP is charging against "formula-based" EDM.
"Dance music across all types has become formula-based," he told Q [via NME]. "It's 'Here's your drum fill, here's your build.' All that DJ bollocks and tutorials on YouTube shit. This album is totally organic. Pure violent energy."
Though info on the upcoming album is still shaping up, other tracks that could pop up on the LP may include "Beyond the Death Ray," "Get Your Fight On," "Wall of Death" and "Rockweiler." Sleaford Mods have also been confirmed as guests on a track called "Ibiza."
For now, you can check out footage of the group performing "Rockweiler" below.
