Twenty-five years ago today, electronic trailblazers the Prodigy ushered in a new era of underground rave music with their third studio album, The Fat of the Land. Now, the critically acclaimed effort is being reimagined with two anniversary releases.
To be released under XL Recordings on November 4, the anniversary reissues will include a limited edition 2LP silver 12-inch vinyl package of the original album with Alex Jenkins' artistic stylings, and a new remix of "Firestarter" by drum and bass pioneer Andy C on 12-inch vinyl.
The Fat of the Land debuted at No. 1 on album charts around the world; the record is the first in Canada to debut at No. 1 through independent distribution. "Firestarter," the first tune to be originally released from the album, saw late frontman Keith Flint take centre stage on vocals for the first time.
