Maya Postepski is a longtime member of Austra and has also been in Trust, but her latest endeavour is a solo project under the name Princess Century. Following the recent Lossy EP, she has now shared her debut full-length, Progress.
Those who are familiar with Postepski's work in Austra and Trust won't be too surprised by the sound of these nine dark, danceable electronic tracks. That being said, Postepski strips away the pop inclinations of her other projects, leaving only the gothic disco influences.
Postepski said in a statement [via Brooklyn Vegan], "This record is quite personal / intimate for me. I hope you can come into it and see the lightness and playfulness, as well as the dark we all hold within. The sound is meant to communicate a great love and desire for affection with you. I want you to know me better."
Progress is out a week from today (October 16) on Paper Bag Records.
