Pearl Jam Announce Canadian Tour, Anniversary Festival, Book and Film Soundtrack

BY Gregory AdamsPublished May 16, 2011

It's been a busy year for Pearl Jam so far, what with their many reissues and news of both singer Eddie Vedder's solo album and the upcoming, Cameron Crowe-helmed documentary. You might also remember that a while back there were rumblings of an upcoming Canadian tour, as hinted by fellow grungers Mudhoney. A press release from Pearl Jam now confirms that they're indeed heading out across Canada this fall.

Though the official statement makes no mention of whether or not Mudhoney will be handling that opening slot, Pearl Jam have lined up a pile of Canadian dates. Starting September 7 at Montreal's Bell Centre, the group will head out across the Great White North, playing such cities as Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Ottawa.

You can check out the complete schedule below and all tickets go on sale on May 27 at 10 a.m. local time with the exception of the Montreal show, whose tickets will go on sale on May 28 at noon local time.

Prior to the Canuck tour though, the long-running outfit will host and headline a Labour Day weekend concert in Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, WI. The two-day festival, running September 3 and 4, will also feature performances from the Strokes, Queens of the Stone Age, Mudhoney, John Doe, Joseph Arthur, Glen Hansard, Liam Finn and more.

It's also been announced that Pearl Jam will release a soundtrack to Pearl Jam Twenty documentary. Though neither a tracklisting nor a release date have been announced, director Cameron Crowe selected which songs will be on the disc. The soundtrack will be released on Columbia/Sony.

If that weren't enough, Pearl Jam will also be releasing a book called, what else, Pearl Jam Twenty. It promises to be "an aesthetically stunning, definitive chronicle of the band's past two decades." More info on the book and soundtrack will be revealed in the weeks to come.
