Metallica Share New Music

BY Josiah HughesPublished Dec 22, 2015

It's been seven long years since Metallica released their last proper album Death Magnetic (unless you count 2011's ill-advised Lou Reed collaboration Lulu). And while the wait for a new album isn't exactly over, the thrash metal titans have finally treated us to a brief taste of new material.

As a holiday treat for fans, Metallica shared a new seasons greetings video. The clip features frontman James Hetfield chilling with his cat in the band's San Rafael studio headquarters. While it hasn't been confirmed as a finished song, the video does include a snippet of some new Metallica music.

Earlier this month, Hetfield shared some of his favourite moments of 2015. Along with daps from Justin Bieber and his love of Baroness, Hetfield also said that he achieved his "best guitar sound yet" on the new Metallica recordings.
