Metallica fans are a sensitive bunch. Earlier this year, when pop pipsqueak Justin Bieber appeared on Instagram in a Metallica t-shirt, a whole swarm of fans took him to task in the Instagram comments. One person who wasn't phased by it, however, was Metallica frontman James Hetfield.
In fact, Hetfield just released a list of his ten favourite moments of 2015 and Bieber wearing a Metallica shirt was one of the items that made the list.
While it's listed as number 10 on his list of "Top 10 Thingz of 2015," the hand-written list specifies that its items are in "no order of importance." That means Bieber paying tribute to Metallica was as important to Hetfield as watching his children grow up and even the fact that he's still alive.
Other items that floated Hetfield's boat in 2015 included Baroness's Purple album, and the recording of Metallica's forthcoming new album, which he says includes his "best guitar sound yet."
