Cat lovers may have just got Meow the Jewels, but internet-famous kitty Lil BUB has just announced she has an album of her own.
Due December 4 via Joyful Noise, the album is called Science & Magic: A Soundtrack to the Universe and arrives as a series of 11 "carefully crafted" instrumentals, with a statement from Andrew W.K. explaining that BUB "wrote this music and used the musicians on this album." Of note, the guys tasked with pulling off the performances are the cat's owner, Mike Bridavsky, and his friend/official "bubbysitter" Matt.
An album trailer with electronics-spiked previews can be found below, along with W.K.'s statement that suggests that Lil BUB is an interstellar traveller. It's a theme that was also explored in the 2013 "meme cat" documentary, Lil BUB & Friendz.
In addition to regular LP, CD and digital platforms, Science & Magic is being pressed onto a limited-edition picture disc that will be "signed" by Lil BUB, and the meowsic will also be available on "cat eye" coloured vinyl. A quarter of the proceeds will be donated to Lil BUB's Big FUND for the ASPCA to assist pets with special needs. Pre-orders can be found here.
Prior to crafting a solo LP, Lil BUB appeared on Run the Jewels' cat-fancying Meow the Jewels and has also smacked twine with the likes of Steve Albini and long-time pal Andrew W.K.

It may seem impossible that a cat could compose an entire album of carefully crafted instrumental music, but BUB is not simply "a cat". She came from the deep unknown, on an intergalactic mission to help the people and animals of earth with her magic, talents, and otherworldly wisdom. I can attest to her power — the time I spent with her absolutely made me a better person.
The songs on this album are the soundtrack to BUB's universal adventure, and a soundtrack to the universe itself.
