Lana Del Rey Used Election Night to Announce a New Album from a Denny's

Get ready for a record of "American standards and classics"

Since there wasn't anything else important going on last night, Lana Del Rey thought it was a good time to shine the spotlight back on her and discuss her upcoming projects. So that's exactly what she did — in a post from a Denny's.

On Instagram last night (November 3), Del Rey let us know that she will be releasing "a digital record of American standards and classics for Christmas."

As she explained, "I have some Patsy Cline songs I've been wanting to cover for a really long time, a couple of really cool Americana songs with [country singer-songwriter] Nikki Lane that I've just kind of had in my back pocket."

Del Rey went on to say that she's releasing this new digital album because her other new record, Chemtrails over the Country Club, has indeed been delayed. While it had initially been planned to arrive in September, the record won't likely be released until the spring due to what she calls a "16-week delay on the vinyl process."

She added, "Because I can't get the record plants to open until March 5. That probably goes for a lot of people out there. Yep, there probably are other musicians trying to get their records pressed."

So yeah, by the looks of things we'll be getting this covers records before Chemtrails. Whatever arrives first will follow 2019's Norman Fucking Rockwell!, as well as this year's spoken word poetry effort Violet Bent Backwards over the Grass.

Beyond that, she did do a second election night post — not from Denny's — that finds her performing an a cappella version of "You'll Never Walk Alone" — the classic ballad from the 1945 musical Carousel. Apparently, the cover is for an upcoming documentary about soccer team Liverpool FC.
