Lana Del Rey has announced that she's going country for her new album, Lasso, which will be out in September.

Last night (January 31), at the pre-Grammys event Billboard Power 100 Party 2024 in Los Angeles, she said that she and producer Jack Antonoff had been visiting historic country music hubs.

"If you can't already tell by our award winners and our performers, the music business is going country. We're going country. It's happening," she said. “That's why Jack has followed me to Muscle Shoals, Nashville, Mississippi, over the last four years."

She recently confirmed that she had collaborated with country songwriter Luke Laird.

Her words should perhaps be taken with a grain of salt, given her history of teasing projects that don't materialize. Remember Rock Candy Sweet?

Lana Del Rey's most recent album, Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd, came out last March and was on Exclaim!'s list of the best albums of 2023.
