Lady Gaga has had a bit of a rough go of it so far in 2013, as she cancelled more than a month's worth of touring in order to have hip surgery. Things are now looking up for the pop mega-star, however, as she has just set a date for her upcoming album, ARTPOP.

The full-length will arrive on November 11 through Interscope Records, and will be preceded by a single on August 19. Album pre-orders will begin on September 1.

Gaga announced the impending release on Facebook and shared the above picture. It's not clear if this is the album cover, or simply a new promotional photo; you'll notice that Gaga is showing off the "ARTPOP" tattoo on her inner wrist.

The album will be made available as an interactive app, created by TechHAUS. A press release describes this as "a musical and visual engineering system that combines music, art, fashion and technology with a new interactive worldwide community."

The announcement further explains, "The album ARTPOP musically mirrors Gaga's creative process as she passes through the mediums of each artist she collaborates with, scoring a blueprint of her journey. The result, a 'rage' of electronic passion and fury, defining each artistic process from beginning to end ARTPOP could mean anything. But for her, this is a celebration of obsession."

Gaga has been talking about ARTPOP and its accompanying app since last year, and now her fans have finally have a date to mark in their calendars. Her last album was 2011's Born This Way.
