Kathleen Edwards has been running a café called Quitters Coffee in the Ottawa suburb of Stittsville since 2014. Now, Edwards has announced that she has left Quitters, which is rebranding as Equator Coffee.

On Twitter, Edwards announced that she was "quitting Quitters" and shared a graphic thanking Stittsville. She jokingly compared to situation to Meg Ryan's character in You've Got Mail (who sells her bookstore).

Edwards founded Quitters when taking a step back from the music industry in 2014. In recent years, she has returned to music: she released the album Total Freedom in 2020, and has an acoustic EP called Dogs and Alcohol coming out this spring.

Edwards wrote on Facebook, "I'm thrilled to announce that Equator Coffee will be taking over our space in Stittsville in two weeks. So many happy memories have been made here, and many more to be made in the years to come. I'm so very proud of this place we made."

Equator Coffee is a small chain with three locations (soon to be four) in and around Ottawa. Quitters' food menu reportedly won't be changing, and the current staff will join Equator.
