Junior Boys have announced their first headlining tour of North America in seven years, performing in Canada and the United States in early 2023.
The Hamilton, ON, the duo of Jeremy Greenspan and Matt Didemus will play 18 dates on the continent next January, February and March. A release notes that the news arrives "in anticipation of new music later this year."
Next year will mark the 20th anniversary of Junior Boys' debut EP Birthday / Last Exit, released via Kin Records. The celebratory mood will carry over to the tour, with dates featuring an expanded band performing songs from all five of the duo's albums, along with other rarities.
The 2023 tour is bookended by dates in Junior Boys' home country. In January, they'll begin the run on the West Coast with dates at Edmonton's Starlite Room (January 17), Calgary's Commonwealth Bar & Stage (January 18) and Vancouver's Hollywood Theatre (January 20), ahead of wrapping things up at Toronto's Danforth Music Hall on March 4.

Junior Boys last released acclaimed fifth album Big Black Coat, which was named among Exclaim!'s Best Dance & Electronic Albums of 2016. Later that year, the duo followed it up with surprise EP Kiss Me All Night.
In the time since Big Black Coat, Greenspan has contributed to two albums from fellow Hamiltonian Jessy Lanza, and produced 2021's Reflections of the Invisible World for multi-instrumental explorer Colin Fisher.
