Julian Casablancas + the Voidz

"Where No Eagles Fly"

Later this month, Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas will unleash Tyranny, his second solo LP and first with backing band the Voidz. We've already heard the album's 11-minute single "Human Sadness," and today we get another taste with "Where No Eagles Fly."

Though not as big in scope as its predecessor, the song packs a ton of ideas into its more traditional runtime. Opening with a loose, rumbling bass line, the song builds to a cacophony of exploding drum machines, busy guitar work, crazy synths and Casablancas' strained vocals as he screams the lyrics.

"Where No Eagles Fly" was debuted on BBC Radio 1. To hear it, go here and skip ahead to the 45-minute mark. Tyranny will arrive September 23 via Cult Records.
