Harp-plucking singer-songwriter Joanna Newsom recently unveiled plans for her latest LP Divers, and now she's announced plans to take the new material on the road.
She'll embark on her first North American tour in five years beginning on December 6 in Boston, and will work her way north of the border for a sole Canadian date on December 14 in Toronto. The whole thing will wrap up with a show in Madison, WI, on December 18.
The string of shows will see Alela Diane and Ryan Francesconi join Newsom on the bill.
In addition to taking new tracks like "Sapokanikan" and "Leaving the City" on the road, Newsom has organized theatrical screenings for the Paul Thomas Anderson-shot video for lead single "Sapokanikan." The special screenings will take place in cities across the globe between October 16 and 22, though no Canadian theatres have been included in the string of events.
Divers arrives on October 23 via Drag City. Check out the list of upcoming tour dates below.
