It's been a very big weekend for Jay Z. First, his wife Beyoncé gave birth to twins. Now, the veteran rapper has formally unveiled his hinted-at new album 4:44, which will be out before the end of the month.
An announcement from his streaming service, Tidal, reveals that the record will arrive on June 30. Predictably, it's going to be exclusive to Tidal (in partnership with Sprint).
This announcement follows news that Hova would be releasing a film called 4:44,, which was previously teased with a trailer featuring Hollywood star Mahershala Ali. It seems fairly likely that Jay Z is following his wife's example and releasing a visual album, but this remains to be confirmed.
The latest 4:44 trailer features a snippet of a ghostly, introspective rap track titled "Adnis." Check out the clip at the bottom of this page. Like the previous trailer, this one shows Ali laying into a punching bag.
