Published Jun 08, 2017A mysterious ad campaign promoting something titled 4:44 has been causing massive waves of speculation this week, and now some new details about the upcoming project have been revealed.
As it turns out, the advertisements aren't quite signaling the arrival of Jay Z's next album (as many predicted), though Hova does seem to have his fingerprints on the project — 4:44 appears to be a Tidal-exclusive film.
A teaser trailer aired during last night's (June 7) NBA finals game, starring Moonlight's Mahershala Ali as a boxer and Danny Glover as his coach. Credits at the end of the commercial indicate that Lupita Nyong'o will also appear in the film.
Despite the new visual clue, details remain incredibly vague about the upcoming project. Does Tidal have a feature film in the works? Or is Jay maybe looking to Beyoncé for inspiration and working on a visual album of his own?
Check out the mysterious trailer below, and stay tuned for more 4:44 information as it becomes available.
