Hollywood's Favourite Script Is About Michael Jackson's Pet Monkey Bubbles

For the last 11 years, film executives have voted on their favourite unproduced screenplays to establish the Black List. The 2015 edition of the list was revealed today (December 14), and the top choice is a rather strange one.

Called Bubbles, the screenplay is a biopic about late pop prince Michael Jackson as told from the perspective of his pet monkey Bubbles.

The script was written by Isaac Adamson, a novelist whose 2000 book Tokyo Suckerpunch was previously almost turned into a film by Sony Pictures.

The treatment for Bubbles reads as follows:

A baby chimp is adopted by the Pop star Michael Jackson. Narrating his own story, Bubbles the Chimp details his life within The King of Pop's inner circle through the scandals that later rocked Jackson's life and eventually led to Bubbles' release.

Whether or not this extremely strange sounding film gets made is yet to be seen, but it wouldn't be the only Michael Jackson story in the works. As previously reported, the singer's final days will soon be explored in a new television series called Before You Judge Me.
