Happy Kendrick Lamar day to all who celebrate! If you can tear yourself away from Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, you should look no further than this week's batch of the best new Canadian music — featuring some pretty big steppers — to keep your morale high.

Zach Zoya previewed his forthcoming EP No Love Is Ever Wasted with "Smoke & Dance," TOPS filled Empty Seats with out-of-this-world "Janet Planet" and Arkells brought us a new Cold War Kids-touting '80s pop anthem. Elsewhere, Tami Neilson and Rachel Bobbitt both dropped singles speaking back to power on behalf of women, which reminds us — Fredricton's Motherhood also led us with "Shepherd."

This week additionally saw album releases from Joel Eel (Love Infinity), Sister Ray (Communion), Pkew Pkew Pkew (Open Bar), Yves Jarvis and Jenny Berkel.

Get ready to say "DAMN." with The Eh! List below, presented by Mary Brown's Chicken & Taters — all Canadian and proud of it!
