Lunice Returns with Sophomore Album 'OPEN,' Shares New Song "No Commas"

Zach Zoya, DRTWRK, Yuki Dreams Again, Cali Cartier and more contribute

Lunice has detailed his second solo LP. The Montreal artist and TNGHT player will share OPEN on June 23 via LuckyMe.

Following 2017 full-length debut CCCLX, the 10-track OPEN is said to find Lunice approaching the creative process with a "desire to embrace spontaneity."

It also finds him at work with fellow Quebec-born artists like Zach Zoya, Grammy-winning producer DRTWRK, Yuki Dreams Again and Jay Century, along with Stargate, DAGR and Cali Cartier.

Cartier appears on new arrival "No Commas," which you can hear below alongside a video from director Cameron Morse. As the artist shares, that aforementioned creative goal was met by the song's genesis: "This track is the result of multiple natural occurrences where the melody, drums and vocal performance coincidentally fit with each other in the moment of creation without any prior motive behind it. I find these instinctual moments of creativity beautiful and inspiring."

Vinyl and CD editions of OPEN feature a pair of bonus tracks in "Sonic Samba" and "Compensate," and are now available to pre-order.

Lunice and Hudson Mohawke ended their hiatus as TNGHT in 2019, and released EP II shortly after.
