Hear Adam Baldwin Cover Tom Petty's "King's Highway"

An eclectic group of Canadian artist are paying homage to the late Tom Petty with a playlist of covers, aptly titled Canada Covers Tom Petty, and Exclaim! is giving you the exclusive first listen to another track from the project.

The playlist was curated by Jadea Kelly, who previously shared her version of "Wildflowers" — and now we get to hear a new take on Petty courtesy of Adam Baldwin.

The Nova Scotia singer-songwriter opted to reimagine "King's Highway," which originally appeared on 1991's Into the Great Wide Open.

"Truthfully, I had initially chosen 'Kings Highway' because it's my children's favourite Petty jam," he tells Exclaim! "The more I listened to it, the more the message, as I interpreted it anyway, struck me. The desperation and fear amidst the will to endeavour for better is a lesson for all of us I think."

Listen to Baldwin's rendition of "King's Highway" below.

Baldwin's cover will hit streaming services on Friday (October 19), followed by Canada Covers Tom Petty in its entirety on October 20.
