After an exciting inaugural weekend that brought Mumford & Sons, Maggie Rogers and a slew of popular Canadian acts to Cavendish, PE, in 2023, Sommo Festival organizers have tapped Noah Kahan and Greta Van Fleet to headline their second annual edition.
UPDATE (2/29, 1:17 p.m. ET): Festival organizers have now announced the full main stage lineup, which adds Half Moon Run, Danko Jones, TALK, Terra Lightfoot, Adam Baldwin, Goldie Boutilier, dee holt and Fairgale to the mix. Announcements over previous months have also revealed that the Beaches and Maren Morris will also perform.
Taking place right next to the Anne of Green Gables house of literary fame, Sommo Fest has more to offer than just music — organizers promise festivalgoers "a unique blend of live music with culinary and beverage experiences."
"We feel Noah and Greta are the perfect follow up to our inaugural festival. After the success of our first year, we look forward to another opportunity to highlight our coastal oasis and local businesses to festivalgoers this year," Whitecap Entertainment CEO, Ben Murphy, said in a press release. "We are so thrilled to be heading into our second year with two incredible headliners coming to Atlantic Canada for the first time and cannot wait to share more news surrounding the additional musical and culinary lineups for this September."
2023's folk rock favourite Kahan will headline Friday's slate of shows, while blues rock stalwarts Greta Van Fleet will cap off the fest on Saturday night.
Although further lineup details have yet to be announced, if last year's roster of supporting acts of Tegan and Sara, Charlotte Cardin and Allison Russell are any indication, festivalgoers are in for a jam-packed weekend of good music.
