Hear the Week's Best New Canadian Music: Charlotte Day Wilson, Saya Gray, BIG|BRAVE, Hua Li 化力

BY Exclaim! StaffPublished Mar 28, 2024

Coming at you a day early in light of the holiday weekend, the week's best new Canadian music might feel lighter than usual this time around, but we could all use some levity, right? That being said, this crop of tunes is chock-full of extra sweetness and Easter eggs galore, obviously. (And leftovers from last week. I'm not perfect!)

Charlotte Day Wilson ups the ante for Cyan Blue with latest single "Canopy," and BIG|BRAVE likewise jockey the thrills sure to come with A Chaos of Flowers on their new track "canon : in canon."

It's maybe the weirdest week of the year to release an album unless you're Beyoncé; however, Hua Li 化力, Saya Gray and Good Kid have never been ones to abide by conventions, so they've already dropped their new LP and EPs, respectively. There's more records to come tomorrow (March 29) from Sum 41, Non La (Like Before) and Sunglaciers, as well as a new EP from fanclubwallet.

Elsewhere, Jill Barber has made her Francophone return after more than a decade, previewing the effort with her rendition of an Édith Piaf classic.

The hunt for your new favourite song ends with The Eh! List below, presented by Mary Brown's Chicken & Taters — all Canadian and proud of it!
