San Francisco, CA-based post-punk trio Grass Widow have already made some waves with their excellent self-titled album and EP, both of which were released last year. Now, the band have signed with seminal Portland, OR-based indie label Kill Rock Stars for their sophomore effort.
A post on the KRS site explains that the band are currently recording the album with Alex Yusimov, who also runs beloved reissue imprint Mississippi Records. If it's anything like their previous releases, we can expect a markedly unique mid-fi record that blends a pop sensibility with the band's stirring post-punk.
While the album does not yet have a title, it will be released by Kill Rock Stars on August 24.
