French Montana Scraps 'MC4'

After already meeting its share of delays, French Montana has confirmed that his long-planned MC4 won't be coming out of the kitchen at all.

The album had first been teased to arrive back in August via Bad Boy Entertainment/Epic Records, and then pegged for an October 14 release. An interview with the rapper explains that the record has now been called off completely for a few reasons.

In addition to the bummer of the record having leaked in the summer, sample clearance issues led to some tracks being reworked, much to the rapper's chagrin. He didn't have "the same feeling for it" once the changes were made.

"Songs like 'I'm Heated' and 'Two Times" couldn't be cleared," he told Complex. "By the time I got the mix how I recorded it, it wasn't the same. I just ain't have the same feeling for it. Everybody had to replay shit, and do all this extra shit, so I wasn't in the mood to put it together."

While this means there won't be a MC4, which was to be the latest instalment in Montana's long-running Mac & Cheese series, he added that "all the music going to come out...just packaged differently. "

MC4 was to host French Montana's summertime "No Shopping" team-up with Drake, "Figure It Out" with Kanye West and Nas, and material with A$AP Rocky ("Said N Done"), Jeezy ("Everytime"), Miguel ("Xplicit"), the late Chinx, and more.
