Fortunate Ones

"Solitary Sparks" (video)

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Oct 16, 2015

Folksy Newfoundland two-piece Fortunate Ones dropped their debut album The Bliss earlier this year and just racked up a handful of Canadian Folk Music Awards nominations, but they're showing no signs of slowing down or resting on their laurels. The band are currently in the midst of a fall tour across Canada and have shared the premiere of a video for "Solitary Sparks" exclusively with Exclaim!

The clip pairs the anthemic folk tune tune with an adorably romantic visual love story. Told using footage of intricately arranged figurines, the two main characters fall in love at a fairytale-esque ball and dance under the sparkling lights as the camera circles around them.

The Bliss is currently out on Old Farm Pony Records. In addition to the band's remaining Canadian tour dates below, the duo have some festive plans for the upcoming holiday season — they've added a hometown show on December 11 at Cochrane Street United Church in St. John's.
