Flying Lotus Preps DJ-Kicks Mix, Burial Delays His

Following the success of Los Angeles, DJ-Kicks has announced its next mixmaster will be none other than SoCal glitch-hop maestro Flying Lotus. The Warp Records signee is expected to drop his contribution to the long-running series sometime next year, but only after Burial (aka Will Bevan) finishes up his DJ-Kicks, which once again has been delayed.

According to reports (such as this one), Burial has said he’s yet to complete his mix, even though it was originally set for a June 23 release overseas and over here in North America on July 8. There have been several tracklistings for the release posted online in recent months, but the only track confirmed for the Burial mix is in fact one by Flying Lotus, his tentatively titled "Buried."

And while these are all the details we have on both artists’ DJ-Kicks activities, as previously reported, Flying Lotus is set to drop his next LA EP, LA EP 2X3, on November 24 overseas and, according to Pitchfork, December 9 in North America.

Also, in some rather sad Flying Lotus news, his mother has recently passed away, and as a result, has been forced to call of his upcoming European tour. However, his two U.S. dates next month are still to go ahead.

Here are Flying Lotus’s amended tour dates:

11/7 Los Angeles, CA - Echoplex (Brainfeeder LA)
11/8 San Francisco, CA - 1015 Folsom (Brainfeeder SF)
11/18 Berlin, Germany - Ostgut
11/19 Munich, Germany - Die Registratur
11/20 Norwich, England - Po Na Na
11/21 London, England - Electrowerks
