"Why We Fight" (video)

Fresh off their 2016 SOCAN Songwriting Prize win, Fast Romantics are back at doing what won them the prize in the first place — making music. Their latest offering arrives in the form of a video for the new single "Why We Fight."

The clip arrives along with news that the band have inked a deal with Light Organ Records for an upcoming album. The six-piece are set to release a full-length record with the Vancouver-based label in spring 2017 — and as band member Kirty recently told Exclaim!, "I'm really excited for this project and for people to hear it."

According to a press release, "Why We Fight" hears the band channelling their inner Bruce Springsteen, both musically and politically, though the band is quick to dismiss it as a traditional protest song.

"'Why We Fight' started out as a song about myself, about what it is that drives me to even be in a band in the first place," frontman Matthew Angus said. "But it quickly evolved into an ode to anyone who finds themselves hungry for something that might seem out of reach."
